An Exploration of the Influence of Mental Health Education on the Development of Journalism and Communication Programs in Local General Colleges and Universities

Abstract

This paper first explores the application of mental health education in the teaching of journalism and communication majors from the direction of cultivating journalism and communication majors, and puts forward the countermeasures for the development of journalism and communication majors in colleges and universities based on mental health education by focusing on the two aspects of setting up the curriculum and mass media communication. Then according to the research model and hypothesis, research sample and method, determine the research design scheme of competence in mental health education of journalism and communication students, and use statistical analysis tools to empirically analyze the development of journalism and communication profession based on mental health education. The results show that in the comparison of emotional intensity in the psychological state, the total score of subjects in the experimental group, the control group and the control group II for the positive emotional tendency decreases in order, and the total score for the negative emotional tendency enhances in order, indicating that the interactive video form of reporting will make the user’s emotional tendency more biased towards the emotional color of the work. On the analysis of competence in mental health education, the regression coefficients were 0.774, 0.738 and 0.678, and the significance level of the effect reached 0.001, and the competence level of journalists had a significant predictive effect on their job performance and its two dimensions. This study confirms that mental health education has a facilitating effect on the development of journalism and communication professions and is important for the training of journalism majors.
