Abstract
Nanotechnology has revolutionized polymer additive design by incorporating nanoscale fillers and reinforcements that significantly enhance mechanical, thermal, and barrier properties. This paper reviews cutting-edge advancements in nanotechnology-enabled polymer additives, including carbon nanotubes, graphene-based additives, and nanosilica fillers. These nanomaterials provide superior mechanical reinforcement, flame resistance, and conductivity, expanding the applicability of polymers in high-tech industries such as electronics, aerospace, and biomedical engineering. Additionally, the paper discusses the potential health and environmental risks associated with nanomaterial use and explores regulatory guidelines ensuring the safe adoption of nanotechnology in polymer additives.
