Data Organization and Research on Newspaper Illustrations of Guilin Antiwar Cultural City under the View of Historical Ecological Perspective

Abstract

Newspaper illustrations, as an important historical imprint of Guilin’s antiwar cultural city, are of historical significance for its excavation and research. This paper addresses the characteristic that newspaper illustrations are paper materials, and adopts digital methods to organize them. Based on the ecological view of history, the relationship between individuals and history is explored, so as to put forward the guiding method of paper history organization. The flatbed scanner is mainly selected for scanning, while the systematic processing workflow of the scanned images is constructed, and the TIFF image format is selected as the storage format through comparison. Finally, the study of newspaper illustrations of Guilin Anti-War Cultural City was launched from aesthetics, opinion space and cultural characteristics. The value coefficient of regional aesthetics of newspaper illustrations grows in twists and turns from 45.6 to 78.5, and the value coefficient of pictorial aesthetics grows from 60.2 to 70.5. This study reveals the historical and cultural value of newspaper illustrations of Guilin Antiwar Cultural City, and lays the foundation for further conservation.
