Abstract

Through in-depth reading of the basic theoretical texts of iconography and formal analysis, we know that iconography has long since stopped planning a series of definitions, such as the exploration of images and abstract thinking, into philosophical thinking or artistic aesthetics. With the continuous innovation of its professional knowledge video, the necessity of iconology is still improving. Iconology came into being with the rise of "New Painting History" at the end of the 1960s, and then generally affected the art history industry. As for the distinctive way of ancient Chinese murals in ancient China, in the absence of immediate references to prove it, we choose the idea of comparative research between physical observation and indirect references, and take iconology as the idea to analyze in detail its representative implication and the communication between its images, floating roofs, and the interior space of the bishop's hall, so as to help us to guess the history of mankind, From the perspective of cultural integration and transformation, we will further reveal the regularity of decorative design contained therein, which is intended to confirm the development potential and vitality of Chinese folk arts and crafts. This paper focuses on the concept of iconology; Based on the theory of iconology and formal analysis, this paper studies the brand image in ancient Chinese murals. According to the three levels of iconology, from easy to difficult, it makes an in-depth analysis of the most original practical meaning, traditional definition and substantive meaning of the brand image in ancient Chinese murals.
