Abstract

As higher vocational colleges and universities pay attention to the ideological and political education of contemporary students, the traditional education methods have been difficult to adapt to the needs of social development. This paper firstly discusses the relevance of the theory of ideological and political education and mental health education, including the difference and synergy between the two. Secondly, it discusses the integration of the theory of political education and mental health education, and thus constructs the “12345” psychological education model for the practice of the theory of education. Finally, in order to verify the effectiveness of this model in the practice of ideological education, an empirical analysis of the students’ mental health status and emotional regulation ability was carried out as an example. The results show that the mean value of students’ SCL-90 total score is 151.67±46.91 points, and the detection rate of more than 160 points is 31.05%, which shows significant difference at 1% level. And there is a certain degree of difference ratio between emotion attribution and emotion expression ability in emotion regulation ability before and after carrying out the psychological parenting model. The psychological nurturing model of ideological education in higher vocational colleges under the perspective of mental health can help schools understand the psychological development of students, and then help students better cultivate their ideological and political qualities.
